Publishing my first book was both scary and a little intimidating. You’re so afraid that no one will like your work and you’ve opened yourself up and put yourself out there. JJ planters helped me every step of the way and helped assuage my fears. They even had to take baby steps with me. Overall it was a thorough and pleasant experience.

I sent my manuscript to a vanity publisher back in 2013; they agreed to edit, publish and distribute it for a hefty fee. I accepted the terms. After a few months, they sent back a lifeless, watered-down version of what I had written. Afterward, my book sat on the shelf in a state of rewrite until I met Jarvis about a year ago. My story was almost 300 pages long…. with no chapters! Jarvis’ editing style proved to be superior to the vanity team that had my book. We talked or texted regularly. The professor in Jarvis schooled me in all manners of writing narratives, with grammatical correctness and flow. From a 1-5 rating of service, I would rate the grammatical and categorical writing assistance as a 5. Jarvis was very knowledgeable about the proper use of language and often made recommendations that would clarify my writing from a grammatical standpoint, without changing the impact of what I was trying to communicate.

I found the interactive editing process the best way to take on a large project in sizeable chunks. Jarvis would edit a chapter and send me the recommended changes. I would accept or reject his recommendations and resubmit my copy back to him for integration into the whole project. This was a fluid process. Rarely did I have to wait long to receive my chapter for review & revision. My updates were made on time. If for some reason there would be a delay, he kept me in the loop about the progress. I never had to wonder what was going on. Once we went through all the chapters one by one, he did an overall edit to make sure the book was consistent throughout.

The cost was extremely reasonable compared to the other publishing companies that I researched. I am not quite sure how he was able to maintain such a low cost, but I never felt like I sacrificed any quality.

I would rate the services and assistance I received as top-notch. Not only would I recommend JJ Planter services to someone in the future, I already have. Furthermore, I plan to use JJ Planters for the updated edition of my book.
